Such boats were kept as longboats on large warships or were workboats in harbours for transport of cargo and people. They could be rowed or sailed when the masts were put up. On occasion they could be fitted with a large gun. This boat had a length of 13 m and is documented in the Atlas du Génie Maritime as a launch of 1834 from Cherbourg.
The model was built to the plans of Gérard Delacroix, ANCRE publishing company, that are based on the documentation in the Atlas du Génie Maritime (see above).

This model is a masterpiece. It was built by Rudolf Ferlemann, Münster, Germany.
The boat model is 1 : 36 scale.
Length is 40 cm, width 11 cm, height 10 cm without mast, 30 cm with
masts put up.
The price of the model is 700 Euro, plus transport cost.
Transport: The ship model can be secured in a transport box. This way,
truck or air cargo over long distances can be safely done.
If you live close by, picking up the model with your car may be a good way, too.
