The history of the HMS Agamemnon

In 1781 the HMS Agamemnon was launched as 64-gun ship of the line. She was known to be Admiral Nelson's favourite ship after he served as Agamemnon's captain in 1793 - 1796. In 1801 the ship fought in the Battle of Copenhagen and later on took part in the Battle of Trafalgar 1805. In 1809, when running aground in the mouth of the Rio de la Plata she was wrecked.

The wreck of the Agamemnon has been located in the year 1993. Some artifacts, including one of her cannons, have been recovered.
There is an article about HMS Agamemnon in Wikipedia.
