Ship model L' AURORE
L' AURORE was built in 1784 in France by the shipbuilder H. Penevert.
The length amounted to 31 m, the width to 8.7 m, the displacement to 500
tons at 4 m draught. From France ships of this kind sailed to the coast
of Angola, in order to take over 600 slaves for the journey to Haiti, at
that time French colony Saint Domingue. From there colonial goods were
bought, usually sugar, and transported to France. In 1789 the slave
trade was abolished in France.
There is a

This masterpiece of a ship model has been made with great handicraft and
much love to details.
The ship model is 1 : 36 scale. Length is 138 cm, height 105 cm. It was

gallery of the ship models sold are meant for people who look for
information on slave trade history or for ship modelling enthusiasts who
maybe get ideas or some guidance, if they want to build such a model by
themselves.
This L'AURORE model is one of the eight ship models we delivered to the
Morada Seaside Resort at Kuehlungsborn near Rostock on the Baltic coast.
It is a beautiful hotel directly at the Baltic Sea beach, and our models
are on display in the passage to the restaurant.
