Ship model  customs schooner ALERT

The customs schooner ALERT was used at the beginning of the 19th century for the pursuit of smugglers at the US coast. For this reason she was equipped with large sails and a wedge-shaped deep keel to be a fast sailer close to the wind. The ALERT has been fitted with a rotating carronade located on deck mid-ship.

This ship model is 1 : 25 scale. Length is 88 cm, width 36 cm and height 70 cm. It was made by Mr. Rudolf Ferlemann, Muenster, Germany.
