An elegant way to place a beautiful ship model

This model of the ROYAL LOUIS of 1780 has some felt glued underneath the keel, to prevent scratching the surface of the sideboard in our living room. The ship model is stabilized by two tiny wedges in the middle of the hull. The wedges are fixed to the hull by double-sided adhesive tape and also have felt glued to them. They are be easily hidden by some figurine like the sleeping cat. This way there is no visible stand and the elegant ship seems to float.
