The International Maritime Museum
Hamburg
The International Maritime Museum Hamburg is located in a former harbour
warehouse (Kaispeicher) in the HafenCity of Hamburg (Hamburger
Speicherstadt). It was opened in 2008 and exhibits the extensive
maritime collection of Peter Tamm. On display are numerous ship models,
paintings, uniforms, weapons and construction plans. The building has
ten floors with specific topics: ship building, sailing ships, navies of
the world, marine research and maritime art.
There is more information on the homepage of the
Internationalen Maritimen Museum Hamburg and in a
Wikipedia-article.
I include photos of two fine ship models: the
English galleon "Bull" of 1546 and the
Brandenburg Frigate "Friedrich Wilhelm zu Pferde" of 1681.
If you click on a photo you will get that photo in high resolution.
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox, press F11 to minimize
navigation bars and have a larger screen with the photos.
